Disaster Management -- Human Resources. The HR Team member will assist with the management of the volunteer capacity for Disaster Management through recruitment, orientation, training and volunteer retention, evaluation and recognition. HR or Volunteer Resource Management training is an asset but not required. Training is providing. May be required to assist with the management of volunteer responders in local disaster situations. Must be 18 years old.

Disaster Management -- Public Awareness (PA) Representative. The PA representative will assist with the coordination of all public events such as fairs and displays as related to Disaster Management in York Region. Also assist with the creation and maintainence of display materials as well as tool kit resources. Training is provided. Public relations and marketing bacground is an asset but not required. Attendance to quarterly PA and monthly general Disaster Management meetings is mandatory.

Disaster Management Volunteer, Personal Disaster Assistance (PDA). Members of the PDA team are trained volunteers who are ready to respond within several hours to a small response in order to access the basic needs of the evacuated client for up to 72 hours after the incident. Must be 18 years of age with a clean Vulnerable Sector screening. Training is provided. Attendance at monthly general Disaster Management and quarterly PDA specific meetings is mandatory.
